I honestly wasn't feeling this challenge so much. I haven't in previous years, either, so I guess this category just doesn't do it for me. On the other hand, this did give me the opportunity finally to sneak in some Steven Universe! The flag I chose for this challenge is Rose Quartz's battle flag. I also tried a drag marble on my pinky that's vaguely inspired by Rose's shield, but... it's kinda meh
Polishes used:
WOW cosmetics- 436 (darker pink)

#31DC2015 Day 23- Inspired by a Movie
This is a bit of a cheat, since I did these nails based off the TV show, not the horrible abomination they call a movie. I'm still in denial about that thing existing (THERE IS NO WAR IN BA SING SE)
Avatar: The Last Airbender: The cartoon, not the in-name-only """""""adaptation"""""""!
This post is going up suuuuper late, it was Yom Kippur today and I didn't feel comfortable posting even via a queue
Polishes used:

New collection: Futurama!
~~~*WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF TOMORROWWWWWW*~~~
I have done it! I have launched my very first fandom collection in my shop! Since I have a ton of photos to post, I'm not gonna be very wordy, I hope you enjoy the polish I've created!
Bite My Shiny Metal Ass (Inspired by Bender):
Clobberella (Inspired by Leela)
My Manwich! (Inspired by Hermes):
Good News, Everyone! (Inspired by Prof. Farnsworth and the Planet Express)
Kappa Kappa Wong (Inspired by Amy Wong):
What about Zoidberg? (take a wild guess who inspired this one)
Fun fact about the Zoidberg polish: I considered leaving him out of the collection as a joke, but then I decided that I'd rather make a Zoidberg polish than have a meta joke in my collection.
I'm also selling complete sets of both the mini and full sizes at a significant discount:
I hope you like them! I kind of want to make a "Shut up and buy my polish!" joke here but that would be in poor taste.
Full disclosure: Most of the pictures of my hands are a little bit photoshopped. I only used it to get rid of patches of dry skin or places where my cleanup wasn't great or places where there was residual glitter on my fingers. The polish itself is completely untouched, I wouldn't want a dishonest representation of my product. My fingers, on the other hand, are mine and I am not selling them so I can do with them as I please.
Another full disclosure: I am aware of the fact that Loki's Lacquer used to make Futurama themed polishes. If this were the kind of thing where a gazillion people had done polishes inspired by the same subject (like with Doctor Who or Avengers) I wouldn't say much, but because it's only one other person that I know of, I felt compelled to discuss this with her before I created my collection. Don't worry guys, I have her blessing (particularly since she no longer makes polishes and she's glad someone is carrying the torch!). I am actually going to be sending her this collection to review, I'll link to it here when that happens!
31DC2014 Day 24- Inspired by a book
I'm on time!
Today's post is inspired by the book I Shall Wear Midnight, by Terry Pratchett. It's the amazing, fantastic, wonderful, moving culmination to his Tiffany Aching YA series. I cannot recommend that series enough. (Although beware: this book is the final in the series, read the others first!)
Credit where credit's due: I wanted to draw a hare made of flames on one of my nails, since hares and flames are both strong motifs in the book, but I am no good at drawing, so I used the fan art cover designed by Alicia-MB on tumblr as a reference. My hare doesn't hold a candle to hers (no pun intended) but at least it looks hare-like!
I will be gone for the next few day for the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashana, but I've got posts queued so I don't miss any more days of this challenge! I will also be posting one catch-up today, and have one queued for tomorrow (since I missed six days I'll be splitting the art three-and-three)
31DC2014 Day 23- Inspired by a movie
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh man! I haven't updated in over a week! I've actually been keeping up with the art side of the challenge, but the photos have been piling up on my computer not getting posted =/ I've done some really cool stuff over the last week, so I'll be dedicating two catch-up posts to the whole thing. In the meantime, here's today!
I chose the movie Pacific Rim as my inspiration- specifically, the Kaiju, who have mottled grey skin with bright blue bioluminescent highlights running through them. I actually used a glow in the dark blue in this look, but unfortunately the bottle is pretty old and I couldn't get a glow out of them, even after "charging" them in the sun for five minutes and going into a pitch black room :(
Still, I do think I managed to capture an abstract kaiju-ish look, and I got a compliment from a waitress today!
