NOTD: Water spotting

I've been meaning to update with some of the cool new stuff I got from the Born Pretty Store, but I keep not uploading the stuff to my computer. In the meantime, here's a little bit of nail art I had sitting around in my drafts folder for a while. I've been holding off because I want to post the swatches of this collection first, but since this post is all ready to go, the swatches will have to come later!

I recently came across a technique I'd never heard of before called 'water spotting'. In the pictures I'd seen, it looked like an easier method to create a splatter manicure look, and that's still my impression after trying it. It's still a very messy method, but there's a lot less fuss.

More pictures and instructions on how to recreate the look after the jump!

Coming up next: ICON

We interrupt your regularly scheduled nail art to bring you some other nail art!

I actually have a few other posts queued up with photos from earlier, but I wanted to share this right away: My logo for this year's Icon! It's going to be on their website, I'll put a link on here once it's up.

I sized this one much smaller than usual, for two reasons: One, it hides the bumps and flaws in the nails, and two, this is approximately the size it'll be on the con website.

So what do you think?

Also: I got my bornprettystore order!!! I already have an NOTD queued up, although a few other things come first. In the meantime, I've drawn the batman logo with one of the products from the order, and the TARDIS and the Starfleet Insignia are both done with acrylic brushes from the order as well.

Also: newly shaped nails! They've finally gotten long enough to be shaped once more. Happy!

NOTD: Galaxy nails

Happy 50th post!

Today I tried galaxy nails for the first time, or at least the first attempt that was worth posting pictures for:

My thoughts? I used wayyyyyyyy too much glitter. Definitely have to tone down the bling next time, it barely looks like a galaxy. Other than that, I really enjoyed wearing this look.

Colors used:
WOW cosmetics- 393 (black cream)
Chic- Sexsy Emerald (yes that is how it's spelled, what can ya do- Israeli polish!) (turquoise)
Chic- Purple Rain
OPI- Pirouette My Whistle
Color Club- Magic Attraction (this is the one I should probably have skipped)
Essence- Hello Holo

Baby's first indies!

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me...!  I bought my first indies, happy birthday to me!

I think this is my best birthday present to myself so far :D

(To be fair, I have had indies before, but these were the first ones I purchased for myself- the other three or four I have were gifts)

Without further ado, meet GlitterBunny:

GlitterBunny is, as far as I can find out, the only Israeli indie polish in existence. She sells a lot of really cute stuff, and her international shipping is really affordable, so I recommend you check her store out! She sells on bigcartel at

Seriously intimidating

Feel free to ignore this post, it's basically just me whining

It's been over a week since I updated. And this isn't even a photo post!

I need to get a new camera- I've been using my flatmate's camera, and I'm hesitant to bring it to work, which is the only way I'd be able to take photos in sunlight. Hopefully I'll be able to make a proper photo post tomorrow, since it's the weekend. I'll try to take enough photos that I'll have stuff to post all week.

But oh my GOD am I feeling insecure lately. I've been trying to make forays into the world of Israeli polish bloggers, but while my spoken Hebrew is fine, my reading/writing level is... not enough to feel comfortable. So I keep avoiding the all-Hebrew blogs. I should really read more, and I should really be making my posts both in Hebrew and English, but I've been procrastinating on it.

There's all of these quality blogs with their quality photos and quality products and I just... don't think I can compete? I know I made this blog basically for my own enjoyment, and it's not like it's a chore (not at all!) but I want to be consistent and I want to be good at it.

Should I expand the blog? If it's just text updates it's much easier for me, even if there's more content involved. Should I start writing about life stuff and opinions and things? Somehow I don't really see that meshing with this style blog. Maybe I'll open a parallel blog...

When can my ADHD go away already?
